Daniel Dahlin

Daniel is the great grandson of Edwin. He started playing Swedish folk fiddle as a young boy. He listened to records and tapes of old Rattvik fiddlers, day in and day out, listening to the style and feeling those old fiddlers put into their music. In the end, Daniel developed that same style and plays with the same feeling and energy. When not leading Ivares Pojkarna with his powerful melodies, he plays some fantastic harmonies and even does the knackning second at times. Daniel's fiddle playing has also been recognized in Sweden, he was given the Blann Olle Stipendium. The first ever awarded to an American musician. His playing has re-energized both Paul and Bruce and it's so reassuring to see a trio back playing Edwin's music.
